Paulsen Statement On Debt Ceiling Vote

Rep. Erik Paulsen (MN-03), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement after voting against President Obama's request to raise the debt ceiling by $1.2 trillion to $16.4 trillion:

"We must take immediate action to stop our spending-driven debt crisis," said Rep. Paulsen. "I voted against increasing the debt ceiling because it is the only means we have left to prevent Washington politicians from spending money we don't have."

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional U.S.- Korea Free Trade Working Group and co-chair of the House Medical Technology Caucus.
