Rep. Farenthold Reacts to President's State of the Union Address

Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Blake Farenthold (TX-27) had the following comments on the President's State of the Union Address:

"The President continues to come before Congress and propose his failed tax-and-spend policies as means to stimulate the economy. The facts remain that after three years of the Obama economy the only change that has occurred is high unemployment, high gas prices, high taxes and a decrease in America's credit rating," said Farenthold.

"Tonight, the President spoke of fairness brought about by everyone paying their fair share, but in America fair means equal opportunity and a level playing field, not equal results through wealth redistribution. I agree with the President, this is a make or break moment for America, but the real key to moving forward and rebuilding our economy will be when we rely on our founding principle of hard work and begin to remove the barriers that stand in the way of job creators ready and willing to put Americans back to work."
