Garrett: Delay of Obama Budget Reinforces President's Lack of Leadership on Deficit and Debt Crisis

Location: Washington, DC

Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ), Vice Chairman of the House Budget Committee and Chairman of the Budget and Spending Task Force for the Republican Study Committee (RSC), issued the following statement today after President Obama announced that he would delay the release of his 2013 budget:

"I was disappointed to learn today that President Obama has decided to delay the release of his 2013 budget. American families don't have the luxury of delaying when they write their household budgets each year, and neither should the president. Unfortunately, this is what we have come to expect of a president that routinely abdicates his leadership responsibilities and has shown no interest in working with House Republicans to rescue our country from the depths of financial ruin."
