On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am delighted to send my congratulations to newly elected President Christopher Loeak and to the people of the Marshall Islands.
Our two countries share a long history of close cooperation on many issues. Our strong friendship will continue to deepen as we work together to help all Marshallese realize a better future. We look forward to continuing to promote security and prosperity and curb the effects of climate change for the Pacific region.
Congratulations to President Loeak and best wishes for continued progress and prosperity in the years to come.
