Governor Lynch Statement Regarding PUC's Approval of Purchase Power Agreements Between Local Independent Power Producers and PSNH

Governor John Lynch this evening released the following statement regarding the Public Utilities Commission's approval of a power purchase agreement between the state's independent power producers and Public Service Company of New Hampshire. Governor Lynch worked to bring the two sides together to help ensure an agreement could be reached. Reaching an agreement helped save jobs at the state's small, independent power producers and in the logging industry:

"This agreement is good news for our state and our economy. It will not only continue to ensure more of our energy comes from renewable sources, but it will also directly save a number jobs across our state," Governor Lynch said. "I applaud and thank everyone involved for working to make this agreement possible."
