Sullivan Supports Plan to Expedite Keystone XL Pipeline

Statement

Date: Dec. 2, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman John Sullivan offered the following comments after the House Energy and Commerce Committee held a hearing on expediting the Keystone XL Pipeline. Sullivan also voiced support for H.R. 3548, the North American Energy Access Act. This legislation introduced by Rep. Lee Terry (R-NE), takes action to approve the Keystone XL pipeline, a project that has been delayed for years by the Obama Administration.

"With over 14 million Americans out of work, it makes no sense for the Obama Administration to continue dragging their feet and holding a vast supply of North American energy hostage with bureaucratic red tape. The Keystone XL pipeline provides two things our country desperately needs -- energy security and American jobs. It's time to get our economy moving again, and passing the North American Energy Access Act will go a long way towards accomplishing that goal."
