Blackburn Amendment Keeps FCC In Check

Congressman Marsha Blackburn (TN-7) today secured an amendment to prevent the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from using the licensing process as a back-door means of imposing regulations on communications providers. Blackburn's amendment was approved as part of the JOBS Act that was marked up in the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology.

"America desperately needs more commercial spectrum in the market, and I want to thank Chairman Walden for the great work he has done to find a balanced approach to accomplishing that goal in the JOBS Act. This bill will enhance American innovation and create thousands of good-paying jobs. It's a win-win for the hard-working taxpayers.
