Broun's Thanksgiving Day Message

Statement

Date: Nov. 23, 2011
Location: Evans, GA

U.S. Representative Paul Broun, M.D. (GA-10) today released the following statement in observance of Thanksgiving Day 2011:

"Despite difficult economic times, we, as Americans, have so much to be grateful for. Our nation enjoys resources in abundance and freedom unparalleled throughout human history. We are blessed to live in a nation where we not only have the opportunity to better our own circumstances, but the future of our children and our grandchildren as well. On this Thanksgiving Day 2011, I encourage every American to pause and express gratitude to our service members who stand guard over our blessings and, most importantly, to the Provider of it all. As President Abraham Lincoln wisely acknowledged in the first Thanksgiving Day Proclamation, "No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God.' May God continue to extend his blessings to America for generations to come and may we ever be grateful."
