Mack Blasts Liberals For Blocking Balanced Budget Amendment

Statement

Following today's vote to create an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would require Congress to act responsibly and balance our nation's budget, Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14) stated:

"Washington's insatiable appetite for spending has long been plagued by wasteful, liberal big-government programs for which the only solution left is defined restraint of the Congress through a Balanced Budget Amendment or the Mack Penny Plan. The financial welfare of our nation's future, and the very freedoms we hold dear, can only be secured with restraints on Congress and the wasteful programs put forth by the Obama Administration. Enough is enough. Not surprisingly, the liberals in Congress have put our nation's financial stability at risk by blocking a Balanced Budget Amendment today, leaving hard-working Americans wondering how much longer our nation can cling to our freedom, security and prosperity."
