Bill Johnson Honors Our Nation's Veterans

Statement

Date: Nov. 11, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) issued the following statement in honor of Veterans Day -- November 11, 2011.

"Today is Veterans Day, the day we set aside every year to express our eternal gratitude to America's heroes, our veterans. Throughout America's history, our brave men and women in uniform have fought tyranny, stemmed the tide of communism, and today they wage the war on terrorism -- and, their sacrifices are the reasons we live in freedom and enjoy the opportunity to pursue our dreams here in America," said Bill Johnson.

Bill Johnson added, "Whether our veterans fought in previous conflicts, or whether they are returning from today's foreign battlefields, they deserve the benefits and care they have earned. As a veteran myself, honoring and taking care of our veterans who have served this nation so honorably and selflessly is one of my top priorities. And, as a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure we have an effective and efficient Veterans Administration to care for our nation's heroes."
