Johnson Welcomes Supreme Court Consideration of Obamacare

Senator Ron Johnson (WI) today made the following statement regarding the decision by the Supreme Court to consider a multi-state challenge to the 2010 health care law:

"I welcome the decision of the Supreme Court to rule on the constitutionality of Obamacare. I hope the Court recognizes -- as the 11th Circuit did -- that the Constitution was never intended to give the federal government the power to require every American to purchase health care -- or any other product.

"If it is fully implemented, Obamacare will lead to rationed care, lower the quality of care, increase medical costs, and severely limit medical innovation. It will add trillions to our deficits in the next few decades. We are already bankrupting our nation. We simply cannot afford it."
