Continuing to keep American employment as his top priority, U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-8) today called upon the House Leadership to bring legislation forward for consideration that would create 1.5 million American jobs.

The Currency Reform for Fair Trade Act would address China's unfair devaluation of its currency, which has exacerbated the United States' trade deficit with China and led to the loss of 2.4 million American jobs since 2001.

"We quite simply can't afford to wait any longer. China's currency manipulation has a devastating impact on manufacturing and other industries across this country," said Pascrell, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and House Budget Committee. "The American people are tired of waiting. We are tired of waiting for an unwilling Administration to act on its own. Let's come together and pass this bill on a bipartisan basis and send a message to China that we will stand up for our workers, business, and American jobs."
