U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following statement Thursday regarding the Department of Veterans Affairs announcement on the Robley Rex VA Medical Center:

"Although this is progress, we still have not reached our ultimate goal of starting construction on the new state-of-art facility and getting our veterans the highest quality health care they so deserve. The final decision is long overdue. Kentucky veterans are still waiting and I urge the Department of Veterans Affairs to make its final decision soon."
