Walberg Weekly Wrap-Up 10/21

Statement

Date: Oct. 21, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

It's autumn in Michigan and an enjoyable time to be with friends and family. However, back in Washington the regulations are piling up higher than leaves in the front lawn. It's not been about just opposing regulations. The issue at hand is common sense regulations v. harmful regulations that destroy jobs.

We need to get our economy moving again and that is why we are advancing solutions across a range of policy areas. Our economy has been hurt by the failed trillion dollar "stimulus" and uncertainty created by the government takeover of health care, yet the job destroying regulations continue to pile up. I will continue to use common sense when scrutizing job-killing regulations. Proposing harmful regulations when unemployment is skyward at 9.1%, is the wrong approach by this Administration and I will continue respectfully pushing for common sense policies that will grow our economy, encourage job creation and protect the citizens of Michigan.
