Statement from Rep. Andy Harris in Remembrance of 9/11

Statement

"The terrible events of September 11, 2001 still remain engrained in our national consciousness ten years later. Like Ronald Reagan once said, "America is a shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere." I believe that the police, firefighters, and first responders who ran into burning buildings so others could get out, or the passengers who-rather than give up-dug in and charged the cockpit of Flight 93 demonstrated what Reagan spoke of when he described America as a beacon of light for freedom-loving people."

"Each year on this day we are reminded of these heroic acts and many others that occurred on September 11th. We are also given the opportunity to remember and honor the heroes and victims. Through our thoughts and prayers we keep their memory alive, and stay vigilant to never again allow such a terrible tragedy to occur."
