Chairman Rogers on the hearing:

"This subcommittee continues to investigate ways that TSA can promote innovation in the private sector, thereby creating jobs and meeting the TSA mission of securing commerce and the traveling public. In our last hearing, we heard from former Department officials and the Government Accountability Office on challenges that TSA and DHS have in working more efficiently with industry to develop and procure needed screening technologies. For this hearing, we invite industry to come in to tell us what they think. We know that actions can be taken that will incentivize industry to want to work with government, and we intend to promote that dialogue and find answers to some of the challenges that continue to stifle innovation."
