Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) praised the House for passing another bipartisan jobs bill, the Coal Residuals Reuse and Management Act (H.R. 2273), and noted that Republicans will continue to take action on jobs bills supported by lawmakers in both parties and the president:
"The House capped off the week by passing another bipartisan jobs bill as part of our Plan for America's Job Creators. This bipartisan measure stops new Washington regulations that threaten hundreds of thousands of jobs and requires sensible state-based regulations for coal ash that protect our environment without hurting our economy.
"Republicans said we would find common ground with Democrats and consider elements of President Obama's economic plan -- and we have. The House passed several bipartisan jobs bills this week, including the long-delayed trade pacts supported by the president, and we'll continue to move proposals that have bipartisan support. But as this week has shown, the House can't do it alone. We need the president to stop campaigning and start cooperating with lawmakers from both parties so we can remove government obstacles to long-term economic growth and private-sector job creation."
