Chairman of the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee Praises Passage of Free Trade Agreements

Location: Washington, DC

Following his vote in support of free trade agreements with the nations of Colombia, Panama and South Korea, Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14), Chairman of the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee, issued the following statement:

"The number one priority in Washington is job creation and to that end, the Congress swiftly passed the Free Trade Agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea today. The President's sending these agreements to Congress for passage will open up these markets to American businesses and will broaden the United States' influence and help lift the dark clouds hanging over the heads of so many job-creators in our current economic climate. I encourage the President to stay on course and swiftly implement them through the U.S. Trade Representative and other relevant federal agencies, actions which will be welcomed by the Congress and the American people."
