Issue Position

I am committed to supporting policies that strengthen families and protect the sanctity of life. I believe human life is a gift from God. This gift deserves protection from conception until natural death, and families deserve support in their efforts to rear moral, productive citizens. We live in a tough age; negative cultural messages confront us everywhere. At some point, most every parent has thrown up his hands in despair. Rearing children is more difficult than in the past.

Furthermore, oppressive tax policies threaten the economic integrity of the family so that even basic survival becomes an issue. I believe in the relationship between sound fiscal policies and solid families, because they are part of the same formula that can build a successful society. Louisiana families need social and fiscal reinforcement in transmitting the right values to our children. I believe families are sacred, and I will work to build a culture where children are welcomed into life, even in difficult circumstances, and parents are supported in their God-given duties.
