Agreements Level the Playing Field for American Farmers, Manufacturers

Statement

Date: Oct. 5, 2011
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Trade

U.S. Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-OH) today issued the following statement regarding the consideration of the three pending free trade agreements in the Ways and Means Committee:

"Passing the Panama, Colombia, and South Korea Free Trade Agreements will level the playing field for American manufacturers and farmers. President Obama supports these bipartisan agreements and says passing them will create 250,000 American jobs. In fact, the American Farm Bureau estimates farm exports could increase by more than $200 billion, if these trade agreements pass. These agreements are long overdue and I urge my colleagues to act promptly to pass them."
