According to the 2010 census, residents in our area now have the longest average commute in the state. As evidenced by his cancellation of the ARC tunnel project, transportation and job access will only worsen under Gov. Christie. As a result of the ARC cancellation, New Jersey has lost over 6,000 construction jobs, billions of dollars in federal funds and improved commuter access to lucrative jobs in New York City. Making matters even worse, Senator Oroho refused to vote for the repeal of the toll hike put in place specifically to pay for ARC after the Governor cancelled the project. This amounts to nothing less than an additional tax to New Jersey's already overburdened commuters.

We will fight to increase the percentage of infrastructure funding coming to the 24th District. We will work to improve the key commuting corridors of Routes 15, 23, 78 & 80 to improve access to jobs and reduce resident commuting time. This will increase tax revenues, reduce gasoline consumption and increase the amount of time families have to spend together.
