Congressman Eric Cantor (VA-07) today issued the following statement on the 236th birthday of the United States Navy:

"We are very proud of the role the Navy plays in ensuring our national security. Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to tour the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) in Norfolk, meet the men and women who serve on the ship, and see the tactical capabilities of this remarkable vessel first hand. We have a strong, capable fleet of carriers that, along with the rest of our Navy, helps keep our country safe and defend our freedom and democracy around the world. Today, I join all Virginians in expressing my sincere gratitude to our sailors, including our Navy SEALs, for their honor, courage and commitment, and look forward to their continued success."
