Rep. Becerra: Congress Must Act to Put Americans Back to Work

Press Release

Date: Oct. 3, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Following media reports that Congress will not act on President Barack Obama's plan to grow the economy and put millions of Americans back to work, Representative Xavier Becerra (CA-31), Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus, released the following statement:

"After ten months without action on jobs, it is time for the Republican majority in Congress to stop saying "no' to pro-growth proposals and start taking action to put millions of Americans back to work. President Obama's American Jobs Act includes bipartisan ideas that have traditionally found bipartisan support and today should be no different. The American people have waited long enough for Republicans to put forward their own jobs bill--it's time to vote on the American Jobs Act."
