Never Forget: Rep. Barton Reflects on the 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks

Statement

Date: Sept. 12, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Joe Barton (R-Arlington/Ennis) released the following statement about the 10th Anniversary of the September 11th Terrorist Attacks:

"I hope people across the 6th District will join me in a moment of reflection and prayer on Sunday to remember the terrible events of September 11, 2001. Thousands of innocent Americans were killed that day by a group of terrorists. As we reflect on the lives lost and support those they left behind, we should also remember the way our nation responded -- with conviction and kindness.

"Since then, thousands of Americans have signed up to serve in our military, intelligence community, Homeland Security Department and local police and fire departments. They have guarded our nation and - despite the enemy's best attempts - protected us from more attacks. Today we need to thank them for their dedication.

"I am committed to doing everything possible to win the War on Terror so that America will never again fall victim to another vicious attack."
