Chuck Fleischmann on August Jobs Report: "Same Song, Next Verse"

Date: Sept. 7, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Chuck Fleischmann reacted to the August jobs report released by the U.S. Department of Labor today.

"The report released by the Labor Department today is the same song, next verse. With unemployment again at 9.1%, we are now at our 31st straight month of unemployment at 8% or higher, and what is the President's solution? To give a speech -- again. Instead of admitting his policies of taxing, borrowing and spending have only exacerbated our economic problems, he continues to point fingers. The President should admit he was wrong in his approach to fixing the economy, because that is what adults do when they are wrong," Fleischmann said.

"Lower taxes, less regulation and less government spending are what our country needs. The Republican-led House of Representatives has passed legislation that does those things, but Harry Reid and President Obama have refused to act. I refuse to give up and will fight each day so the private sector can get back to work."
