Congressman Ander Crenshaw released the following statement regarding President Barack Obama's September 8 address on jobs to a Joint Session of Congress:
"I welcome President Obama's participation in Congress's ongoing work to create jobs and promote long-term economic growth. He put a lot of information on the table, and I'll carefully examine the fine print. I encourage him to give careful consideration to Republicans' ideas as well.
"Out-of-control spending, new taxes, and costly red-tape have created one of the worst economies in decades, and Americans want these problems solved for good. Words aren't going to pay the bills, put food on the table, or get them a job. Action and leadership will.
"For the sake of this great nation, we must all work together to create an environment for long-term economic growth job creation. Our children and grandchildren's future depends on it."
