Congressman Austria: "We Have Heard the Talk, Now Its Time for Results"

Press Release

Date: Sept. 8, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Steve Austria (R-Beavercreek) released the following statement in response to President Obama's speech on September 8, 2011:

"With all due respect, we have heard the President talk about jobs for three years, with little to no results. For 31 consecutive months, unemployment has been at or above eight percent -- a level this administration claimed it would never reach if the stimulus bill passed. With Wright-Patterson Air Force Base being a strong economic engine in our state, we must take action to help small businesses that create the long-term, sustainable jobs needed to grow our economy. Washington must get its own fiscal house in order, stop the runaway spending, reform our tax structure to favor job creators, and stop over regulating and hurting the small businesses that create jobs. A second stimulus is not the answer, and the American people expect and deserve better."
