Sen. Heller Offers Statement on 10th Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks

Statement

Date: Sept. 11, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) issued the following statement in anticipation of the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks:

"Ten years ago today, our enemies staged an attack not only on our buildings, but our founding principles---liberty and freedom. Despite the damage from that day and the scars we carry as a nation, the 9-11 attacks failed. This ideology of hate and fear has been rejected by Americans and today, we still embrace freedom and democracy without compromise.

"Today is an important day to honor those who lost their lives during this tragic event and include their families and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. We also remember the remarkable heroism of our nation' first responders and express our gratitude to troops currently serving in harm's ways and their families," said Senator Heller.

Senator Heller will commemorate the tenth anniversary of 9/11 at events in Las Vegas on Sunday morning.
