U.S. Senator Kay R. Hagan (NC) today reflected on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Hagan will be in Charlotte on Sunday for a tribute ceremony at the new Lincoln Heights Park.
"A decade after the September 11 attacks, we take time to reflect and honor the memories of the innocent Americans and the first responders who we lost that fateful morning, as well as the Service members who fight and die in pursuit of those terrorists abroad. Ever since that horrible day, the men and women of our military, many of them from North Carolina, have fought courageously day in and day out to disrupt, dismantle and defeat the terrorists.
"On this National Day of Service and Remembrance, we must thank and support our first responders who protect our neighborhoods every day and our troops as they continue fighting to protect our American way of life."
