Scalise: Obama's "pass the buck' tour highlights the President's failure to lead

Location: washington, DC

Congressman Steve Scalise today released the following statement regarding President Obama's three-day bus tour of the rural Midwest.

"At a time when we need real leadership from the President to control spending and create jobs, all we get from President Obama is this latest "pass the buck' tour that is more focused on blaming others for the problems his radical policies have created rather than a reversal of his failed agenda that led to our nation's first ever downgrade under his watch," Scalise said. "If the President spent less time giving speeches aimed at dividing our country, he would learn that the House has already sent a package of bipartisan bills to the Senate that would create hundreds of thousands of American jobs, yet those bills remain stuck in the Senate because of opposition from his liberal allies. It is long past time for President Obama and his liberal lieutenants in the Senate to stop campaigning and start working with us to pass these bills that will create good jobs in America and get our economy back on track."
