U.S. Representative Lou Barletta, PA-11, announced that the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport will receive a $1.1 million grant.
This grant, from the Federal Aviation Administration, will be used to improve the airport's access road.
"The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport is a vital link for economic development and job creation in Northeastern Pennsylvania. This grant will enhance access to the airport and to the general aviation area," Rep. Barletta said. "The access road and other enhancements at the airport, including the new control tower, are helping make the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport a first-class facility."
The exact amount of the grant is $1,134,584.
