As a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I look forward to developing a long term Surface Transportation Authorization that will not only provide for the necessary infrastructure but also support the creation of jobs. We need to use innovative ideas to streamline the approval process and construction of vital projects such as I-69. We also need to focus spending so that transportation funds are spent only on surface transportation projects and not for projects that fail to improve the efficiency or safety of our transportation system
