Statement On Debt Limit Negotiations

Statement

Date: July 22, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Marsha Blackburn (TN-7) issued the following statement today on the Debt Limit negotiations:

"Republicans remain committed to finding both a near-term and a long-term solution to the nation's economic woes. It is unconscionable that the President would change course and now want an additional $400 billion in taxes. The American people and this economy cannot tolerate more taxes. The President has broken faith with the American people. They do not want more taxes. They want less spending and greater fiscal accountability."
