Issue Position

Attending to the needs and the wellbeing of our military servicemen and women as well as their families is among my highest priorities. As a former member of the United States Air Force and someone whose immediate family members have served in each of the other military branches, I know how important our military and veterans are to our nation. These brave men and women deserve nothing but the best we have to offer both on the battlefield and here at home; I am committed to strengthening that support.

Florida's 24th District is home to tens of thousands of veterans who need medical care, counseling and support in return for their service. That is why I am committed to funding the constuction of the new Lake Nona VA Hospital and working with our local community based outpatient clinics to see that our veterans receive the highest quality health care available.

I have also created a Veterans Advisory Board that is designed to bring the thoughts, concerns and comments from community-based veterans to my attention so that I can take their thoughts back to Washington, D.C. We can always do more for our troops and I will continue to fight for them throughout my time in office. My thoughts and prayers are constantly with the military and their families.
