Issue Position: National Defense

Issue Position

There is no greater priority in Congress than ensuring that our nation is safe and protected by a strong national defense. Without those protections, everything we take for granted each day, including the liberties and freedoms enshrined in our Constitution, could be taken away.

As a former member of the United States Air Force, I understand the importance of a strong military to defend our nation from enemies, both foreign and domestic. With our troops currently serving around the globe, including Afghanistan and Iraq, it is up to Congress to ensure that they have the support necessary to complete their mission and return home safely. I will work in Congress to see that these brave men and women are given the tools necessary to remain safe in the field and to help keep our country safe from harm. My thoughts and prayers are constantly with the military and their families.
