Issue Position: Jobs and the Economy

Issue Position

The United States is currently facing tough economic times, with high enemployment, too many foreclosures, and a tough job market. That is why my top priority in Congress is to help the private sector create jobs and strengthen the economy.

Instead of massive government bailouts of Wall Street, car manufacturers and Fannie Mae, or the trillion dolalr failed stimulus, I believe that the best way for Congress to help is to get out of the way of the small businesses and entrepreneurs that are the true job creators in this nation. By reducing taxes, eliminating regulations, and providing incentives for new hiring, I know that our small business owners across the country will take up this challenge and unleash a new wave of growth that will help end this bad stretch of economic times.

By reducing federal government spending, cutting waste, fraude and abuse, and prioritizing the actions of government, small business owners and entreprenuers will get to keep more of their own tax dollars to reinvest in new hiring, expansions of their companies, and find ways to turn the economy around.
