Issue Position: Health Care

Issue Position

In the years I have been in public service, I've heard from thousands of Delaware families and small businesses, whose stories illustrated the need for health insurance reform. Health care premiums have doubled in the last 10 years, and employee contributions have gone up two and a half times. The Affordable Care Act was an important first step in addressing the rapidly growing cost of health care, but there is still more work to be done. Congress has an opportunity to make changes as we implement the legislation that will make it easier for Americans and small businesses to afford coverage. I already voted to repeal the burdensome small business reporting provision and will continue to work hard on the cost containment portions of the legislation to reduce health care costs in the long-term.
