Americans Need a Solution

Statement

Today,Congressman Steve Pearce restated his commitment to a long-term debt limit approach that will solve America's debt problem.

"While I appreciate Speaker Boehner's continuing efforts to reach a solution to America's debt crisis, I have many questions about the outline he presented to my colleagues today. New Mexicans desperately need jobs. Once it is completed, I look forward to reviewing the text of the proposal. As I have already shown, I will not support a plan that does not include serious, long-term solutions to our country's debt problem. Americans have made themselves very clear that they expect Washington to change its ways. I hope the Senate and the President join the House in seizing this historic opportunity to change course, before it is too late."

Pearce voted last week in support of "Cut, Cap, and Balance," a plan which has passed the House with bipartisan support and includes long-term solutions to the nation's debt crisis.
