"The House simply won't go along with handing the torch of debt to the next generation. The Reid Plan fails to recognize our serious fiscal imbalance, dangerous spending trajectory and need for a long term solution to our nation's debt crisis. Under the guise of compromise, this plan is filled with phantom cuts and budget gimmicks made from Washington smoke and mirrors. It is time to stop playing games with the prosperity of our country-the American people deserve better."
