For far too long the federal government has spent and borrowed too much. It is essential that spending be brought under control to reduce both fiscal burdens on future generations and our economic vulnerability to other nations. Congress has taken the lead on reducing spending by instituting an immediate 5% cut from its budget. Other areas for spending reductions include reducing the size of the federal workforce and federal contractors, eliminating waste fraud and abuse, and reexamining the missions and efficiencies of all federal agencies.
