Issue Position: Energy

Issue Position

Eastern and southeastern Ohio has been blessed with an abundance of natural resources, both with coal and natural gas reserves. For this reason, I am proud to serve on the House Natural Resources Committee.

There is no such thing as a silver bullet that will give America energy independence. Instead we need a buck shot approach in order to solve America's energy problems. This means that we need to unleash all of our natural resources from the Federal Government's red tape that is stopping America from becoming more energy independent. In the 112th Congress I have called on the Environmental Protection Agency to allow energy projects to go forward; to stop enacting job-killing rules and regulations, and to open up the Outer Continental Shelf in the Gulf of Mexico to safe drilling exploration. Finally, I will continue to closely monitor the Administration's energy policies and will work to increase energy related economic opportunities in eastern and southeastern Ohio.
