Alaska Delegation Announces Grants and Contracts to Alaska Programs

The Alaska Congressional Delegation is pleased to announce the following grants and contracts awarded to communities in the State of Alaska:

Department of the Army:

* $10,000,000 contract to MTNT Energy, Inc, McGrath, Alaska for electrical support services in Afghanistan.

* $9,486,739 contract to G2 Construction, Inc, Fairbanks, Alaska for construction of a railhead operations facility at Joint Base Elmendorf -- Richardson, Alaska.

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development:

* $3,001,118 HOME program grant to the State of Alaska.

* $2,632,952 Community Development Block grant to the State of Alaska.

* $983,390 Indian Housing Block grant to the Ketchikan Indian Corporation.

* $190,243 Indian Housing Block grant to the Louden Tribal Council.

* $126,757 Emergency Shelter grant to the State of Alaska.

U.S. Department of the Interior:

* $338,982 Land and Water Conservation Fund grant to the State of Alaska.

U.S. Department of Transportation:

* $6,000,000 to construct a runway safety area in Cold Bay.

National Science Foundation:

* $40,000 award to the First Alaskans Institute for a project entitled "Strengthening the Sustainability of Alaska Native Communities in a Post -- Oil Economy."
