Cassidy Statement on June Unemployment Numbers

Statement

Date: July 8, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D., today released the following statement on June's unemployment numbers.

"Unfortunately, unemployment has risen once again. Burdensome regulations, out-of-control spending and misguided Washington policies are hurting employment in manufacturing and construction.

"The House Republicans' prescription for more jobs includes developing our natural resources such as by increasing drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, decreasing regulatory burden on small businesses and ending the uncertainty about future tax rates. When small businesses begin to hire again, it puts millions of the hardest hit Americans back to work in construction and manufacturing.

"The hard work, entrepreneurship and innovation of the American people will lead us into prosperity if the government does not get in the way."
