This week, President Obama laid out his strategy for the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan. With the death of Osama bin Laden - a major accomplishment for our Armed Forces and intelligence services - I believe this a step in the right direction.
Spending less to rebuild other countries will allow the U.S. to do some nation building here at home and focus on our own economic problems. It is time to take the training wheels off in Afghanistan. I am hopeful that the President's strategy will both safely allow Afghanistan to take responsibility for their security, economic reconstruction and self governance -- and get our troops home safe and sound.
