Pete Sessions on the One-Year Anniversary of "Recovery Summer"

Statement

Date: June 17, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32), a Member of House Republican Leadership, today released the following statement regarding the one-year anniversary of the Obama Administration's "Recovery Summer":

"One year after the Obama Administration touted its wildly out-of-touch "Recovery Summer' campaign, our nation has witnessed 28 consecutive months of unemployment above eight percent and new business creation at a 17-year low. It is past time for President Obama and Congressional Democrats to recognize what the American people already know -- their failed policies have left our nation in a spending-driven debt crisis that has discouraged economic recovery.

"House Republicans remain committed to common-sense policies that will put Americans back to work, reduce over-burdensome government regulations, cut out-of-control spending, reform our complex tax code and increase American competitiveness. Our Plan for America's Job Creators empowers the free enterprise system so our nation's families, small businesses and entrepreneurs may pursue their American dream."
