U.S. Congressman and House Agriculture Committee member Austin Scott (GA-08) issues the following statement after the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry approved H.R. 872, the Reducing Regulatory Burdens Act of 2011. Rep. Scott urges Majority Leader Reid to bring this bill to the floor for swift passage:
"As I stated in my earlier remarks on the Floor of the House, "These EPA regulations fail the common sense test. That agency is on a regulatory path to destruction of our economy, they're destroying our jobs and they must be reined in.'
"I urge Senator Reid to allow the Senate to vote on this bipartisan bill, get it to the President's desk and let's allow American businesses to spend their time creating jobs instead of cutting through the EPA's bureaucratic and unnecessary regulations."
