W.Va. rep honors men and women of our Armed Forces

As Memorial Day approaches, Rep. David B. McKinley, P.E. (R-WV) issued the following statement in honor of our men and women of the Armed Forces:

"Ronald Reagan once said, "Some things are worth dying for. One's country is worth dying for, and democracy is worth dying for, because it's the most deeply honorable form of government devised by man.' Our challenge on this Memorial Day is to ensure that those who made the ultimate sacrifice shall not have done so in vain.

"This is a solemn day as we remember those that paid the ultimate price. Because of them, we have the rights and freedoms we enjoy. Our men and women in uniform are dedicated to seeing that America is safe once again. Whether it is the troops in Guantanamo holding back the evil of radical extremism, to those on the dusty roads of Afghanistan and Iraq; their mission is to restrain the terrorism to that distant shore and never again allow it to penetrate our country and strike fear among our people.

"West Virginians should take some time this weekend to reflect on the great sacrifices our men and women of the armed forces make to protect our freedom. It is our duty to assure them that their lives, their sacrifices and their spirit were justified and they will be remembered as long as God gives life to this nation of ours. God Bless our troops and our families, and God Bless America."
