Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, seeking to restart his fumbling campaign, today issued an agenda checklist of 24 moves, such as repealing Obamacare, that he'd institute as president. Then, adding a little red meat to his two-page resume and agenda, he slammed Planned Parenthood and promised to sign a pledge to never raise taxes.

"The reports of my campaign's death are highly exaggerated," said Gingrich at a breakfast roundtable interview with reporters.

In bidding to get his campaign back on track after a rough first two weeks of gaffes, he handed reporters his written agenda and resume, to make it easier for them to follow, and said that in Iowa, "everybody liked" his plans for the presidency.

"We are going to need very large solutions," said the former House speaker.

On his handout, he broke his agenda down to jobs, national security, and "restoring American Exceptionalism." Under jobs, he sticks much of his economic agenda, such as abolishing the capital gains tax, freezing the current tax code so that there are no new tax increases in 2013, and cutting the corporate tax rate to 12.5 percent. Under American exceptionalism, he address the broad issue of freedom in calling for an end to activist courts, transforming unemployment benefits to a worker training program, and block granting Medicaid. And under national and homeland security, he calls for fighting "radical Islamists," developing strategies to "stay ahead of China and India," and cutting foreign debt.

But he didn't stop there. He called on the House to continue pushing to defund Planned Parenthood. "This is a good fight," he said, playing up the recent report that the group performed over 330,000 abortions in 2009. "That's a medium-sized city," he said, adding, "I think that Planned Parenthood should be defunded, and I think it's a very significant issue to say to people, 'Should your tax money go to pay the leading abortion provider in America?'"

Tait Sye, spokesperson for Planned Parenthood Action Fund, told Whispers, "Supporting efforts to ban federal funding for Planned Parenthood would have a devastating impact on women's health and take away preventive healthcare for millions, leaving them at greater risk for undetected cancers, untreated infections, and unintended pregnancies. And it is a position that is opposed by a majority of Americans."

Gingrich also pledged to sign the antitax pledge from Americans for Tax Reform. "I'm happy to sign it," he said.
