Tate Reeves Releases New TV Commercial in Campaign for Lt. Governor

Press Release

Date: May 31, 2011
Location: Flowood, MS

Mississippi Treasurer Tate Reeves, Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor, released a new television commercial today. This is the campaign's second TV spot. It can be viewed in the media gallery on the campaign's website at TateReeves.com.

Transcript of the ad:

TR: In Mississippi our Legislature has gotten into a habit of borrowing money for things that ought to be funded in the annual budget. We've got to do something about that. We have to get out of that cycle.

V/O: As Treasurer, Tate Reeves was the taxpayers' watchdog. Now he's running for Lieutenant Governor to cut government so we can grow our economy.

TR: And the only way to do that is to have someone in office willing to stand up to all of those people who want to borrow, borrow, borrow and say "Enough is enough.'

V/O: The conservative is Tate Reeves.

"Reducing our state's debt burden and annual interest costs to taxpayers will be a top priority of mine if I'm elected Lt. Governor. In the long run having a low debt burden and minimal interest costs will free up more annual funding that can go to priorities to improve our state, such as education and public safety. I've worked hard to be a watchdog for taxpayers over the last seven years as Treasurer, and I hope to continue that role as our next Lt. Governor," said Tate Reeves.
