Congresswoman Corrine Brown Responds to Death of Osama Bin Laden

Statement

Date: May 2, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

"I am elated that justice has finally been served. I want to thank President Obama, his national security team, and the men and women of our military and intelligence community for their tireless efforts in tracking down Osama Bin Laden, the head of Al-Qaida and most notorious terrorist in American history.

Our thoughts and prayers still go out to the victims of 9-11, who continue to try to make sense of the nearly 10 year old attack on America by this murderous fiend.

September 11, 2001 was the darkest day in American history, and an outright attack on decent people around the world. Today's death of Osama Bin Laden proves that with time, patience and focus, justice will be served.

Although the United States will have to be particularly vigilant following Bin Laden's death; I am certain that our nation will continue to serve as the leader of the free world's global battle against terrorism."
